Watercolor for Beginners
Welcome to our beginner's watercolor class! Before we get started, let's make sure you have all the necessary materials:
Supplies:
Watercolor paints (tube or pan form)
Watercolor paper (cold press or hot press, depending on the texture you prefer)
A paintbrush (a round or pointed brush will work well for most techniques)
A cup of water
A paper towel or cloth for wiping your brush
Now that you have everything you need, let's get started!
-
Let's Begin
Begin by wetting your brush and mixing a small amount of paint with water on your palette or a plate.
Start with light washes to get a feel for the paint and how it moves on the paper. You can use a large, flat brush for this, or a round brush for more control.
Practice applying the paint in different ways: try brushing, blending, and layering to create different effects.
As you become more comfortable with the paint, try adding in details and texture with a smaller brush.
Don't be afraid to make mistakes! Watercolor is a forgiving medium, and you can always add more water to your brush to lighten or blend areas.
Remember to have fun and experiment with different techniques and styles. Watercolor is a wonderful medium for expressing your creativity, so have fun and see what you can create!
